Lance Armstrong and NIKE together create STAGES, an art group show that gathers over twenty renowned artists from the contemporary art scene. The concept comes as a simple gesture: ask an artist to offer his /her time and creativity to express the LIVESTRONG message and raise funds for the Lance Armstrong Foundation which is committed to inspire and empower people affected by cancer. The artists who have accepted the challenge are Rosson Crow, Jules De Balincourt, Dzine, Shepard Fairey, Cai Guo-Qiang, Andreas Gursky, JR, KAWS, Geoff McFetridge, Yoshitomo Nara, Catherine Opie, José Parla, Raymond Pettibon, Lari Pittman, Richard Prince, Ed Ruscha, Tom Sachs, Kenny Scharf, Eric White, Christopher Wool, Aaron Young.
The show opens first in Paris, at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, for Lance Armstrong in the emblematic and symbolic context of the Tour de France and his return to the competition after winning the race seven years in a row from 1999 to 2005. The show will then travel to New York and Miami.
