The parc de Szilassy, is an English-style landscape garden, designed in 1835, first privately owned and now state park (in Bex, Switzerland). Every three years since 1981, Bex & Arts — a contemporary sculpture triennial featuring Swiss artists— is held in this park. This year’s theme is Emergences.
“Emergences is inspired by philosophical analysis. It suggests we reflect on the relationship between humankind and the contemporary world, on the utopia of an all-encompassing understanding of the universe, and on the relationship between the work of art and the ‘whole’ to which it pertains. Thus each work crystallises the emergence of a poetic and artistic ‘island’. ” (press release)
For the finishing on Sunday October 5, Claudia Comte will burn her installation HAHAHA at night fall.
