NIGHTSHIFT LABOR DAY MUSIC FEST

Unions and workers are under siege, subject to indifference and destruction at the hands of governments and middle managers everywhere. (See Macron’s recent overhaul of France’s Code du Travail).
.
Working Californians (WCA) believes that “California’s working families make valuable contributions to public debates about urban development, public policy, and economic recovery.” They are “committed to amplifying their voices in a variety of ways, through: campaigns, policy, research and educational outreach, cultural events, and direct economic development.”* Low-income housing, social innovation, and entrepreneurship are also priorities.
.
Once a year WCA presents the all-day NIGHTSHIFT LABOR DAY MUSIC FEST in Grand Park, a benefit for the organization. This weekend’s line-up includes Grace Potter, Ozomatli, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Poncho Sanchez, B-Side Players, and The Revolution. And the organizers have announced the return of the Low Rider Car Show.
.
Co-chairs for the event are International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) members Marvin Kropke (Local 11) and Brian D’Arcy (Local 18).
