High performance art and civic engagement come together this weekend on the Pont Alexandre III as Thanks for Nothing presents its Nuit Blanche 2018 offering LE PONT DES ÉCHANGES.

The NGOs L’Atelier des artistes en exil, Fondation Abbé Pierre, Libraries without Borders, Cultures du cœur, and the Music Fund will join…

… Wael Alkak, Uriel Barthélémi, Alex Cecchetti, Valérie Mréjen, Melik Ohanian, Christodoulos Panayiotou, Laure Prouvost, and Noé Soulier—all of whom have created work specifically for the event.

As a bonus, Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault’s Théâtre du Corps will perform Lorenzaccio.

This week at the Hammer, Christodoulos Panayiotou presents THE PARADOX OF ACTING, his “meditation on the impossible theatrical representation of death and an exploration of the vicious relationship between the spectator, the actor, and the characters trapped in the action.”*

This lecture-performance takes as its starting point the 1991 staging of La Bayadère by Rudolf Nureyev, at which point the dancer’s health was in precipitous decline.
