ANNE IMHOF AT THE ART INSTITUTE

This week, the Art Institute of Chicago presents the second chapter of Anne Imhof‘s performance piece SEX, with a score by Imhof, Eliza Douglas, Billy Bultheel, and Amnesia Scanner‘s Ville Haimala.

In addition to Douglas and Bultheel, performers for this engagement include Sacha Eusebe, Josh Johnson, Enad Marouf, Stine Omar, Franziska Presche, Kizito Sango, and special guest Nomi Ruiz.

The installation exhibition of the work will remain up through the first week in July. Chapter three will be presented in 2020 at Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Rivoli-Turin.

MOVED BY THE MOTION — SUDDEN RISE

SUDDEN RISE—co-written by Wu Tsang, boychild, and Fred Moten—is the New York City performance debut of the ensemble Moved by the Motion.

This “collage” of text, film, movement, and sound is complemented by the words of Langston Hughes, James Baldwin, Hannah Arendt, W.E.B. Du Bois and Jimi Hendrix.

ANNE IMHOF AT TATE MODERN

Chapter 1 of SEX—the new exhibition by Anne Imhof—will be up at Tate Modern through the end of this month.

The durational performance component of the show can be seen three more times in the Tanks, beginning on Thursday.

(Chapters 2 and 3 will take place in Chicago—in late May—and in Turin in 2020.)

All-afternoon, five-day-a-week performances of all five of Adam Linder’s choreographic services have commenced at Wattis.

In February 2019, Linder brings FULL SERVICE to Mudam Luxembourg.
