LOCARNO IN LOS ANGELES 2017

Curated by Acropolis Cinema founder Jordan Cronk and co-artistic director Robert Koehler, the inaugural edition of the LOCARNO IN LOS ANGELES film festival will run from April 21–23 at the Downtown Independent cinema. Ten features—all local premieres—from nine countries will bring the best of the 69th Locarno Festival to Los Angeles.

Organized with the Swiss Consulate General in Los Angeles, the festival will also host two daytime panel discussions and three evening receptions. Filmmakers Eduardo Williams, Dane Komljen, and Theo Anthony (Rat Film) will be there to present their features. Some highlights:

THE HUMAN SURGE / EL AUGE DEL HUMANO (2016), written and directed by Eduardo Williams, Saturday, April 22 at noon.

DARK SKULL / VIEJO CALAVERO (2016), directed by Kiro Russo, Saturday, April 22 at 3:30 pm.

THE DREAMED PATH / DER TRAUMHAFTE WEG (2016), directed by Angela Schanelec, Saturday, April 22 at 5:30 pm.

THE IDEA OF A LAKE / LA IDEA DE UN LAGO (2016), directed by Milagros Mumenthaler, Sunday, April 23 at noon.

ALL THE CITIES OF THE NORTH (2016), written and directed by Dane Komljen, Sunday, April 23 at 6 pm.
