For this year’s avidly anticipated Spring Dances, L.A. Dance Project presents the world premiere of Janie Taylor’s Sleepwalker’s Encyclopedia and the Los Angeles premiere of Benjamin Millepied’s Me.You.We.They.
Choreographed on Lorrin Brubaker, Jeremy Coachman, Courtney Conovan, Daphne Fernberger, David Adrian Freeland Jr., Shu Kinouchi, Peter Mazurowski, Audrey Sides, Hope Spears, Aidan Tyssee, and Nayomi Van Brunt, Taylor’s work is performed against a backdrop designed by Ben Styer.
Millepied’s Me.You.We.They premiered at the Philharmonie de Paris in March 2024. Danced to “One Speed, Many Shapes,” a new composition by Nico Mulhy, the work marks the seventh collaboration between the two artists.
Alternating on the bill are two earlier Millepied-Muhly pieces: Moving Parts, first performed at the company’s Los Angeles debut in 2012, and Triade, a 2008 tribute to Jerome Robbins.
